Introducing Pastor Royal Scott, Jr.

Pastor Royal Scott, Jr. was born and raised in the northeastern area of Kansas City, Kansas, where he received his educational experiences. He attended Dunbar, Hawthrone, Northeast Junior High schools, graduating from Wyandotte High School. Pastor Scott earned a Bachelors of Arts degree in Christian Education from Western Bible College in Kansas City, Missouri. He is also a certified Christian Counselor. He is a certified tas preparer and Site Coordinator for CHCDC VITA Site in Minden. He  has advanced degree studies from Central Baptist Seminary located in Overland Park, Kansas. He now holds a Master of Arts from Louisiana Baptist University in Christian School Administration and is earning his Ph.D in Christian School Administration from Louisiana Baptist University.

Pastor Scott served for eleven years at the historic Walnut Boulevard Missionary Baptist Church, the 2nd oldest Baptist church located in Kansas City, Kansas. Walnut Boulevard celebrated 146 years in existence in January 2011. Pastor Scott was the fourth pastor to lead this church in the past 111 years.

Pastor Scott has many accomplishments and lends his talents and abilities where needed. Before leaving Kansas he served as president of the KAW Valley District Ministers’ Council and also spiritual advisor for the KAW Valley District Laymen. He was an active member of the Kansas City Baptist Ministers’ Union and served on the board for the Baptist Missionary State Convention of Kansas.

Pastor Scott is knowledgeable in real estate and mortgage loans. He was licensed as a real estate broker for the state of Kansas for more than 20 years. He served as a Senior Mortgage Banker for LeaderOne Financial Services and served as president of the Kansas City, Kansas Lenders Consortium.

In addition, Pastor Scott volunteered his services as executive director for the Northeast Economic Development (NEDC), a community development corporation organized to lead in the development of housing for low to moderate income families in the urban area.

Pastor Scott has been married to Sandra for 51 years and they are the proud parents of three handsome sons and seventeen grandchildren. Sandra is his life partner and administrative assistant. She also holds a Master of Business Administration Degree.

Pastor Scott has received numerous awards over the years, just to name a few: “Most Distinguished Black Man” award from Friends of Yates; “Volunteer of the Year” award from Kansas City Blues Festival as chairman for the Gospel Fest; an award as being a past president of the Kansas City, Kansas NAACP, and many others.

Pastor Scott has a love for people and an urgency to see people saved. In all of his busy routines, he still enjoys and set aside time to spend with his wife and family. He enjoys reading, traveling, playing basketball and witnessing God coming through on His promises.

Pastor Scott has relocated to Louisiana humbly serving in the capacity as pastor of the Greater Saint Paul Baptist Church located in Minden since April 2011. He now serves as Vice-Moderator for the Northwest 14th District Baptist Association; Regional Vice President for the Louisiana Baptist State Convention where he also serves as an instructor.  He is President/CEO for Creighton Hill Community Development Corp. and Board member for Community First High School.

Pastor Scott acknowledges God as the provider of brand new mercies each day.
